FAQs

About Us

Virtual NP Solutions (VNPS) is a cash-based telemedicine service that provides healthcare and health coaching virtually.

You will be evaluated through a secure Telehealth platform by a certified nurse practitioner. Diagnosis and treatment of many health conditions can be safely done online so this allows us to help people that may not have access to healthcare due to their location or insurance status.

Health and wellness coaching is a powerful tool to assist you in regaining your health.

You will be charged a non-refundable deposit of $25 at the time of booking.
The remainder of the appointment fee will be charged on the day of the appointment.
Cancelations or no-shows will not receive a refund of the deposit or appointment fee.
If you are late for your appointment, you will have to reschedule. Your payment may be applied to the new appointment.

Patients who are habitually late, fail to show up, or cancel on short notice will be dismissed from the practice.

Refunds of service packages are determined on an individual basis.

All 50 states can benefit from our Health and Wellness coaching services.

Currently we are licensed to provide medical care in Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Maryland,  New York, Nevada, and Arizona, including prescriptions and ordering studies.

General Medical Questions

We can provide simple PCP services. However, if you have a condition that requires a physical examination or have a complex medical history, then you will need to see someone in person.

You can use VNPS along with your PCP. We can provide specialty GI care, urgent care, weight loss and wellness services as needed. You can continue to see your PCP for long-term care.

We see patients 16 years and older. If you are under 18 years old, you will need a parent or guardian present for your visit.

If your condition warrants medications, then we can prescribe various treatments. However, no controlled substances will be prescribed.

We can send orders for laboratory studies to Labcorp and Quest. Please visit the official sites to find locations and working hours. We also work with Medmo, a private company that helps to schedule imaging studies, at no extra cost to you.

We can fax a referral to a specialist if your symptoms or condition requires more in depth workup.

You may use our services to help with general recommendations on COVID symptom management. However, if symptoms are severe or worsening then you may need more aggressive care. In-person evaluation and treatment may be necessary in those circumstances.

 **Not controlled substances***

Yes, we will refill up to 3 non-controlled medications for up to 3 months. You will need to get in with your original prescriber for further management after that. In order to receive refills, you will need the name of the drug, the dose, the frequency, and the reason for taking the medication.

We are unable to refill medications that require prior authorization from your insurance.

Please see the urgent care page for a list of conditions we can help with.

We can treat conditions that are considered simple and easy to diagnose over a telehealth visit, based on your symptoms, what we see, or simple studies. If your symptoms are chronic, severe, or require in depth workup to diagnose, then you should see someone in person.

No. If you have an emergency please call 911 or go to the emergency room.

Gastroenterology Questions

There are GI symptoms that may need aggressive work up. I recommend seeing a GI provider in person for urgent or emergent symptoms. Please see the GI page for a list of symptoms and conditions that we can help with and a list of conditions that may require in person evaluation.

If your symptoms have come on suddenly or are severe, such as severe abdominal pain, persistent nausea and vomiting, or persistent rectal bleeding, then you should go to the ER for further assistance. They can refer you to a GI specialist in person, if needed.

Please see the GI page for a list of symptoms that would be considered urgent.

We can provide prescription medications if it is required for your condition.

We can send a referral to your local GI practice for further evaluation.

Health & Wellness Questions

VNPS can help to improve your overall health and wellbeing. We have various services to help you feel better, including health and wellness coaching, sustainable weight loss, improve or recover from chronic diseases, hormonal balance in men and women, compounded therapies, and supplement recommendations. VNPS will also help to identify diet and lifestyle factors that may be interfering with you living your best life.

This model refers to diet and lifestyle changes that I have identified that will have a big impact on your overall health and wellbeing. There are 10 simple steps that will provide significant improvements in your life as a whole and are crucial for your long-term success on your health and wellness journey.

Lab work may be recommended. It will depend on when was the last time you had any laboratory evaluation and what the previous findings were.

The general consensus is a BMI greater than 30 or a BMI greater than 27, with a  condition that may be worsened by excess weight.

We use a variety of non-controlled medications that can be helpful with weight loss.  We can order medications such as semaglutide (Wegovy), tirzepatide (Mounjaro), and bupropion/naltrexone (Contrave), and more. We also offer peptide therapies and compounded medications for weight loss.

No, that is absolutely not the goal. Weight loss medication is helpful in accelerating weight loss, which can help you stay motivated. However, it’s not a long-term solution. While working with VNPS Weight Loss Clinic you will learn valuable diet and lifestyle habits that can help you maintain your success. So when you stop the medication, you will be able to maintain your weight loss.

Absolutely. Our assessments and recommendations are to help improve your overall health status and get you feeling better. We are dedicated to assisting you with getting to your health and wellness goals, which may not include weight loss.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that perform various functions in the body. These molecules can be supplemented to help with many conditions, including GI symptoms and facilitating weight loss and body recomposition.

Peptides can be utilized for anti-aging benefits, such as improving energy, restorative sleep, bone density, fat loss, muscle mass, brain fog, hormonal balance, sexual function, and more. Peptide therapy can also be very helpful with chronic disease management by supporting immune function, reducing inflammation, and optimizing the natural healing mechanisms of the body.

We utilize peptides processed at an FDA regulated compounding pharmacy to help you achieve your health and weight loss goals.

Suboptimal thyroid function can result in a wide variety of symptoms and contribute to the development of other chronic disease states.

Some people are diagnosed with hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) and started on thyroid hormone to help manage this condition. However, many people don’t qualify for an actual diagnosis of hypothyroidism based on laboratory data, but they have many of the symptoms associated with hypothyroidism. These signs and symptoms may include slow metabolism and weight gain, feeling cold often, fatigue, hair loss, dry skin and brittle nails. Other, not so commonly discussed, signs and symptoms may include abnormal, menstrual  cycle and difficulty getting pregnant, erectile dysfunction, psychiatric illness, including depression and anxiety, abnormal sleep patterns, and abnormal lipid panel.

The Thyroid Optimization service can help to evaluate for suboptimal thyroid function and offer treatment for both overt and subclinical hypothyroidism.

Our goal is to help you feel better. If you have any of these symptoms but were told that you didn’t meet criteria for thyroid treatment, we may be able to help you.

Low dose naltrexone (LDN) is a prescription therapy that can be utilized to help with a wide variety of illnesses. Naltrexone is an FDA approved treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorder at standard doses of about 50 mg per day. However, at lower doses, naltrexone can up-regulate endorphin production and sensitivity, which helps to optimize immune function. In doing so, LDN can potentially help with autoimmune disorders, infections, chronic pain, cancer, and more. With a low side effect profile, LDN may be a good option to help manage symptoms that are unresponsive to standard therapies.

Cost and Insurance questions

We are a cash-based practice. No insurance is accepted. All fees are listed for your convenience.

No. Not from Virtual NP Solutions. We have flat fees listed on the website that will be paid prior to the visit, so no additional charges are from us.

If you need prescriptions or testing, that would be discussed and paid for at the time of your visit, or that will be an outside cost paid to the pharmacy or lab department directly.

That will depend on your insurance. You may try to use the insurance to cover some prescriptions, labs, and imaging, but VNPS will not interact with your insurance in anyway to facilitate that.

VNPS can provide a superbill of our services that you may be able to use for reimbursement from your FSA or HSA, but you will not be able to use them directly.
